More About Brentwood Tennessee
The recorded history of Brentwood begins at the 15th century. The native Americans initially settled and developed several villages in the area. Archaeologists in Brentwood have investigated the mounds, graves and artifacts recovered in the area but having no written language, reveal nothing about these early settlers. They were known to have stayed in the area until sometime in the 16th century with settlements in what is currenty the Meadowlake subdivision and the Brentwood Library. What exactly caused them to flee the area is a mystery to experts.
